Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010

The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010 in Kentucky will represent the largest equine sporting event ever held in the United States. Held at the Kentucky Horse Park from September 25 to October 10, 2010, this will be the first time that the event will be held outside of Europe.

The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games 2010 are comprised of the world championships for eight equestrian sports show jumping, dressage, eventing, driving, endurance, vaulting, reining and para-equestrian. The FEI World Equestrian Games are held every four years, two years prior to the Olympic Games, and are governed by the Fdration Equestre Internationale (FEI). The FEI is the international governing body of equestrian sport recognized by the InternationalOlympic Committee. It is the organization which establishes rules and regulations for the conduct of international equestrian events.

2008 Beijing Olympic Equestrian Events

Equestrian sport is an elegant, competitive sport with a long history, involving the partnership between riders and horses. It is the only Olympic sport where a human being cooperates with an animal in competition, and one of the very few where men and women compete on an equal footing.

Equestrian competitions at the Beijing 2008 Summer Olympics will be held from August 9 to August 20 at the Hong Kong Sports Institute.

The Buckeye Sweepstakes: May 22-25

Earning its name from the buckey tree native to Ohio, the Buckeye has been around since 1963. This show is held at the Ohio State Fairgrounds and draws national caliber horses from throughout the United States and Canada. It ranks as one of the three largest shows in the United States, following the U.S. Nationals and the Scottsdale Show. Placed in the heartland of Region 14, the show has a certain friendliness and welcoming atmosphere. The Buckeye serves as the “proving grounds” for the U.S. Nationals, and is sure to excite.
